Marcel Breuer
The famous architect Marcel Breuer was born in Hungary. He studied at the Bauhaus, Weimar from 1920 to 1924, where he also graduated. He became director of a special workshop in Weimar and continued his work even after the Bauhaus had moved to Dessau 1925.
Later Breuer owned a architecture company in Berlin (1928-1931), worked in London with the architect Yorke and for Isokon. After his second emigration to the United States he got a good position as an associate professor at the School of Design at Harvard, which he held from 1937 to 1946. After World War II he owned a company in New York, Marcel Breuer & Associates.
