In the 1950s artist and Bauhaus designer Charles Eames designed the Aluminium Group Chair EA 108. It consists of a rotating, chrome-plated* aluminum frame. It is covered with fine, highly durable leather or very sturdy cotton.

Charles Eames was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and studied at the Washington University architecture. In 1936 he received a grant from the Cranbrook Academy of Art, Michigan, where he later taught. His colleagues there included Harry Bertoia, Eero Saarinen and Ray Kaiser, whom he married in 1941. The Aluminum Office Chair EA 112, by Charles Eames, was a furniture design created in 1950s and 1960s.
