The materials and colors
The designers of Bauhaus furniture mainly used 1- inch steel pipe since it was available cheaply because it also was the material of gas and water pipes.
We still use this seamless cold drawn tube for many of our furniture. What is water and gas tight cannot be wrong in the living room.
After careful degreasing and preparing our furniture will receive two layers of nickel and chrome trim of 35 microns. That's pretty much and therefore expensive, but it sure keeps decades. Guaranteed!
Chinese copies, however, are made of polished stainless steel only, which would not be so bad if it would either be a high quality. These, however, are expensive.
Even cheaper steel are paid by weight and can save even more by using less material strengths, without this being visible. Unfortunately, it made furniture a bit wobbly, bend and break at times.
In addition, the bad quality of steel have a slightly yellowish colour, will grow pale over time and even rust depending on humidity.
What is the difference between standard, special & aniline leather?
Both the standard leather, special leather and aniline leather are of high quality and very durable. However, they differ in the surface structure and the visual impression.
Is the leather fully tanned?
Our leather is dyed and fully tanned. To ensure the quality and durability of the leather, we tanning the hides in compliance with modern finishing processes. We dye our leather hides exclusively in a barrel procedure. Other manufacturers often use only a tub method, which does not guarantee penetrating color.
